Role Description

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and assisting with both front-end and back-end components of our platform, ensuring seamless functionality and integration with user interfaces, API's and security while following code cleanliness and organization standards. Our ideal candidates will be proficient with core Django Rest/RESTful concepts, core networking concepts, Javascript(Vue3), database management(Postgres), and version control.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience (professional or independent).
  • Experience developing APIs that see production environments.
  • Proficiency with Version-Control such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Proficiency with front-end technologies including VueJS, HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency with back-end development using Django Rest Framework.
  • Experience with database operations and schema design.
  • Proficiency with client state management(Pinia/Vuex)
  • Authentication/Security systems(CORS/CSRF, Oauth/Sessions/JWT, etc).
  • Understanding of network concepts including websockets.
  • Strong understanding of programming standards in cleanliness, documentation, code flow, exception handling and security considerations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient English


Valued Skills (Not Required):

  • Familiarity with cloud services and deployment processes(e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience / Understanding of network concepts as they relate to content delivery and caching.
  • Experience with real-time event-driven updates using Celery and WebSockets or similar.


Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, build and test API's with Django REST framework to integrate with a Vue3 client.
  • Develop dynamic, responsive and performant client features using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices.


Compensation

$60k-$80k/yr CAD
