My client is seeking a highly skilled Project Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee the financial aspects of their real estate development projects. This pivotal role focuses on accurate project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful financial management of various real estate projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage the financial aspects of assigned projects, develop and monitor project budgets, analyse financial data, and provide insights to optimize project profitability. Conduct regular financial reviews to identify risks and opportunities, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Project Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including variance analysis and cost projections, for internal stakeholders and senior management. Collaborate with project teams to track and report on financial performance against established budgets and benchmarks.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Work with project managers to develop realistic project budgets and forecasts, providing financial expertise and guidance.
  • Project Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with project managers, construction teams, and other departments to meet financial objectives and streamline financial processes. Provide guidance on financial procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve project accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency. Implement best practices for cost control, financial management, and reporting standards across projects.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of project accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes knowledge sharing and professional growth.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a complex project-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP).
  • Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends and patterns.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering accurate results.
