A little bit about us

We are looking for a Trade Relations Representative based at our Mississauga location. This role will be responsible for all order processing associated with specific customers while maintaining cost and service objectives.

A day in the life:

As a Trade Relations Representative, you will be preparing information for the daily HOT LIST for the warehouse to use to prioritize inbound freight to secure Customer Order Fill rate. You will also collaborate closely with freight carriers regarding invoice issues, reconciling statements and providing updates as needed for freight bills on shipments to/from NPPC Distribution Center.

You will also:

  1. Prepare and process customer orders which includes screening for product availability using SAP.
  2. Contact Operations Planning and O2C concerning material shortages, variant changes etc.
  3. Prepare information for deliveries and tender loads for customer orders using SAP and TM.
  4. Schedule and provide support to carriers while managing appointments using Dock & Yard.
  5. Ensure appropriate standards when reviewing aged/aging inventory report and reach out to existing and potential charitable facilities to organize and process donations as required.
  6. Ensure tariff classifications are correct for cross border shipments.
  7. Collaborate on process improvement initiatives to support the Transportation & Logistics Depts.
  8. Work with vendors, plants and inter-market group to ensure accuracy of trans-border documentation and on time status of inbound shipments.
  9. Identify discrepancies when running reports as needed – OTR, DMC, Case Pick Visibility, Non-Confirmed, Negative ATP, ME2N.
  10. Rotate working from home on weekends/holidays to cover customer/warehouse needs.
  11. Be responsible for learning other administrative functions within the logistics department.
  12. Guarantee accurate input of rates in Transportation Management System.
  13. Be responsible for reconciling and creating and managing PO’s and payments of assessorial charges for all carriers via CASS and HP payment systems.

Role Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in a customer service role
  • Completion of College diploma in Business Administration or other related discipline
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of warehouse systems and SAP highly desired, also intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • The successful candidate is a creative thinker with strong analytical and organization skills. They will be able to work independently and cope with conflicting demands in short time periods.
  • Able to anticipate challenges and opportunities with proactive behavior.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail with strong initiative, customer service focused attributes.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of SAP and I2 experience required
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to excel at working within a team environment.
  • Must be able to respond to changing demands with short notice and be proactive in managing the needs of an operation.
  • Excellent prioritization and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
