Project (Electrical) Engineer

We are seeking a Project (Electrical) Engineer to join our Instrument Development Team developing the next generations of world-class IDEXX Water diagnostic instrumentation. The successful candidate will have a background in electrical systems design and development for embedded systems.

As a Project (Electrical) Engineer at the IDEXX Water Teta Business Unit, you will be involved in developing new products and instrument solutions to monitor various biological and chemical parameters in potable and waste water applications. Our instruments utilize a variety of electrical and optical systems for function and analytical results, requiring key assessment of requirements to intended function.

You will develop design solutions that deliver high accuracy and precision and are cost-effective, reliable, long-term manufacturable and serviceable, while maintaining ease of use. You will also be involved in production engineering support to perform root cause analysis of products that do not meet quality requirements and participate in engineering changes to improve quality or manufacturing processes. Customer support activities related to instrumentation can include installation and validation of systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  1. Be a key contributor to new product development teams providing electrical support on future platform developments from concept feasibility through prototype evaluation and production release.
  2. Provide manufacturing support through troubleshooting and root cause investigation of hardware and system-related problems and propose design change solutions.
  3. Specify, implement, and test modifications to existing hardware systems.
  4. Analyze, develop specifications, design, review, fabricate and test a variety of electrical systems.
  5. Participate in product validation.

  10. Develop/recommend appropriate facilities, suppliers, components, equipment, tools and resources necessary to complete design, fabrication, implementation, and testing of electrical systems.
  11. Develop personal engineering skill set by learning from experienced, and cross-functional peers.
  12. Support engineering functional excellence objectives.
Qualifications
