Maintenance Mechanic

KIT Recruitment is continuing our successful partnership with our client in the agricultural/farming Industry who is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic (NO license required) in Swift Current, SK.
The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical systems within the production facility. Key responsibilities include performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting equipment reliability to meet production and quality goals.
Maintenance Mechanic Details
- Monday thru Friday
- $29.00-$36.00 per hour
- 2 weeks vacation
- Benefits after 90 days
Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities
- · Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery, motors, conveyor systems, and production equipment to ensure peak performance.
- · Troubleshoot mechanical issues by observing equipment operation, listening for irregular sounds, and using precise testing instruments to pinpoint problems.
- · Disassemble and reassemble production machinery to access and replace faulty components.
- · Track and evaluate the performance of plant equipment and new installations to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
- · Perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including welding and using metalworking tools like drills, presses, and grinders.
- · Collaborate with production teams to plan maintenance tasks and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- · Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications to effectively guide maintenance procedures.
- · Provide management with regular updates on maintenance progress, equipment status, and any production-related challenges.
- · Respond to urgent maintenance needs outside of regular hours as required.
- · Adhere to company policies, including health and safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and other relevant protocols to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
- · Contribute to the team by taking on additional duties and special projects as needed.
Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications
- · 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance or technician role, ideally within a processing plant or a similar operational setting.
- · Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting plant machinery and equipment.
- · Proficiency in welding, electrical systems, and motor repairs is a plus.
- · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- · Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- · Self-driven with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- · Knowledge of safety protocols and experience adhering to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
