Concrete Slab/Flat Saw Operator Specialist

This is not a general labourer opening, we are looking for those with direct experience using concrete diesel or electric self propelled walk-behind slab/flat saws in the concrete or other transferrable industries.

Under the direction of a Superintendent or Foreman/Lead you will operate a variety of cutting & coring equipment to complete designated jobs in a safe & timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of concrete cutting equipment including various sizes of walk-behind flat/slab saws (diesel & electric), gas-powered, 120-480V electric, & hydraulic hand saws, ring saws, & chain saws in both concrete & asphalt applications.
  • Operation of different sized electric & hydraulic coring drills assemblies & bits in various environments.
  • Operate a truck and trailer assembly, cube van, cargo van, or truck as required to get to & from work sites.
  • Daily equipment cleaning, routine preventative maintenance, & basic equipment repair.
  • Inspection documenting & reporting of all used equipment.
  • Ability to direct labourers as necessary as part of a 2-3 man cutting crew to ensure safe and efficient cutting processes.

Qualifications and Certification:

  • Must have a valid class 5 Non-GDL driver's license & clean 3 year driver abstract.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in concrete cutting, primarily with large diesel or electric walk-behind flat/slab saws.
  • CSTS-2020, WHMIS (Free certifications).
  • Strong ability to adapt to different working conditions & equipment.
