We are actively seeking a Special Projects Manager to join us. This position reports directly to the President; and involves working on-site and in-office. If you’re passionate about making a difference and being part of a company that values a people-first approach, we’d love to hear from you


Responsibilities


1. Project Planning and Execution:

  • Establish and achieve project targets and milestones to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead pre-job planning including estimating turnover, kickoff meetings and subcontractor selection.

2. Progress Monitoring and Financial Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on work progress, forecasts, cost control, and project schedule in line with internal forecasts.
  • Complete monthly financial forecasting reports in tandem with the Finance department.

3. Risk and Problem Management:

  • Proactively identify potential problems or schedule delays and communicate them to management.
  • Review work/contracts for risk areas and correct deficiencies.

4. Team Management and Development:

  • Manage and support the project team, including providing regular feedback, coaching, and training.
  • Follow up with site supervision on labor progress and proactively resolve roadblocks.

5. Client and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors (GCs), engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in client and construction meetings and disseminate information to the team.

6. Change Order and Scope Management:

  • Oversee document control, change order processes, and manage all change order pricing. Review contracts for scope and maintain productivity, quality, and costs.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants.

7. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor quality, productivity, and safety to meet project specifications. At Drycore, we are people and safety-first.

8. Estimation:

  • Prepare and submit project proposals.
  • Liaison with the Chief Estimator to ensure accuracy of proposals.


Qualifications


  • Post-secondary education as an Electrician or equivalent combination of education and experience in construction management and/or engineering; trade experience is a definite asset.
  • 10+ years of experience managing electrical ICI projects.
  • Previous experience in the field is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience/knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid (or others) is preferred.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience utilizing scheduling software is preferred.
  • Transparent communication with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors and other partners at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously with frequent travel to site locations.
  • Experience analyzing and understanding Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical construction drawings.
