Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team.
- Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely.
- Supporting patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements.
- Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program.
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred (minimum 1 year).
- Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days.
- A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred).
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Benefits:
