Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports to: Director of Finance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Responsible for financial reporting of 4 US subsidiaries
  2. Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss statement)
  3. Partner with general manager and department managers of each subsidiary and prepare monthly budget to actual variance analysis
  4. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  5. Prepare weekly KPI dashboards and distribute to executives
  6. Design and distribute internal reports upon request
  7. Continuous improvement of month-end reporting processes
  8. Prepares and/or approves journal entries with appropriate support and documentation
  9. Review contracts and prepare accounting memo for complex transactions
  10. Perform quarterly debt covenant analysis
  11. Lead year-end audit and be the main point of contact for auditors
  12. Address accounting inquiries by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  13. Assist with new ERP system and operating system implementation
  14. Guide accounts receivable and accounts payable specialists on proper treatment of transactions
  15. Daily treasury management including cash management, ACH and wire protocols and reporting
  16. Insurance risk management including contract review, insurance renewals, certificate reconciliations and risk mitigation
  17. Review vendor invoices and payments by verifying documentation, account coding and approval
  18. Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or business
  2. CPA or CPA student
  3. 3 years’ experience in audit or accounting/finance
  4. Strong accounting technical and internal control background; familiarity with US GAAP is an asset
  5. Experience in consolidation is preferred
  6. Strong Excel skills
  7. Attention to detail
  8. Deadline-Oriented
