Vice President of Engineering

About Us: At Momentum, we're an innovative, fast-growing Series A startup on a mission to enable enterprise listening. We're seeking a dynamic Director of Engineering to lead and expand our engineering team during this exciting growth phase.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Expand the Engineering Team: Build and nurture a first-class engineering team, addressing any gaps as we scale. Foster a supportive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
- Deliver Valuable Customer Experiences: Set priorities and ensure the delivery of valuable and delightful customer experiences.
- Champion Engineering Excellence: Establish and track metrics for quality and velocity, managing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to champion engineering and operational excellence.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Set the technical vision and software architecture, offering strong technical leadership and guidance while mentoring a high-velocity engineering team.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and marketers to rapidly innovate and execute on company priorities.
- Recruit and Retain Top Talent: Attract, engage, and retain top-tier engineering talent. Build diverse, inclusive teams and help team members grow through coaching, mentorship, and direct feedback.
What You'll Bring:
- Extensive Engineering Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in leading and expanding engineering teams during periods of high growth.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern software development practices, architecture, and infrastructure, with a background in building and scaling complex, high-availability systems.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Ability to drive technical strategy and make informed decisions that balance immediate needs with future goals.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional skills in leading and communicating with teams, capable of inspiring and motivating engineers while effectively influencing stakeholders.
- Talent Development: Proven track record in attracting, hiring, and nurturing top engineering talent, with several years in people-management roles.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellence in tackling and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on agility and quick adaptation to change.
