Position Summary
Reporting to the Safety and Compliance Manager for Edmonton the Cryogenics Safety & Compliance Supervisor is accountable for the safety and training of our Cryogenics Drivers in our Edmonton Terminal.
Primary responsibility is to oversee and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance throughout our operations. Lead safety training programs, conduct audits, and ensure that all drivers and staff adhere to industry safety standards and company policies. Role also involves investigating and addressing safety incidents, implementing corrective actions, and fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Location: 170 Strathmoor Way, Sherwood Park
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days
What you’ll do
- safety meetings with drivers and operations
- new hire cryogenics training
- accident and incident investigations
- collaboratively with Operations to achieve desired business goals
- one-on-one coaching with drivers during scheduled runs
- and train drivers on all Cryogenics accounts, equipment, policies & procedures within the company
• Performing pre/post trip inspection and written driver evaluations
• Accurately documenting and addressing training progress and problems
• Safely and efficiently inspect, operate and maintain company and customer issued equipment in accordance with Transport regulations, TSA, company and customer policies and procedures
• This position will involve fieldwork with driver interactions and observations, site visits and assessments, Incident and accident investigations and response
• Conduct hazard / risk assessments
• Practicing, supporting and enforcing safe work procedures including safety and company policies
• Responsible for direct front-line supervision and support to Drivers in regards to compliance with applicable safety policies and regulations
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Emergency first responder – Attend and provide direct response to emergency situations including the completion of accurate accident/incident summary reports and other official documentation
• Other duties as required
What you’ll bring
- Class 1, driver’s license and have a clean Commercial Drivers Abstract
- to 5 years of tractor-trailer driving experience and Preventable Accident free for a minimum of three (3) years required
- years’ cryogenics tanker experience a MUST
- investigation knowledge and experience is a MUST
- to drive manual transmission vehicles (up to 18 Speed)
- leadership skills
- of Cryogenics and Transportation of Dangerous Goods a MUST
- / CTSP designation an asset
- to work independently and as part of a team.
