Caretaking Manager

We are looking for a dedicated Caretaking Manager to lead a Caretaking team at Edon Management. This role involves overseeing caretaking staff, ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities, and supporting senior management in business development opportunities.


Note: This position will be overseeing a team of approximately 30 members and is based in Suffield, Alberta.


Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall management for Edon’s caretaking department by managing, guiding, and supporting Caretaking Supervisors in the management of their individual employees and teams, ensuring that proper training and development is provided at all levels.
  • Support growth opportunities by participating in and promoting growth opportunities to expand Edon Management’s caretaking services.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained in accordance with Edon Management’s standards and facility’s contract requirements.
  • Review cleaning inspections and work with the operations team to determine actions to resolve deficiencies.
  • Provide leadership and training to cleaners in the proper care and cleaning of facilities.
  • Perform hands-on cleaning duties as per assigned cleaning schedule.
  • Provide back-up support in cases of unscheduled cleaner or supervisor absences.
  • Liaise with clients, and management to address custodial requests and issues.
  • Ensure caretaking Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) requirements are being met.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous caretaking experience preferably leading a large team an asset
  • Minimum five years of cleaning experience in a working supervisory role
  • Reliability Security clearance or be able to obtain this level of required clearance
  • Strong command of the English language (reading and writing)
  • Strong customer care, communication, and client management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead a team of staff to accomplish objectives.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent knowledge of custodial practices
  • Excellent knowledge of janitorial equipment, supplies, and technologies
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
