Overview

Job Title: Operations Manager
Merchandising Division
Reporting to: Director Client Services
Salary: 60-65K
Location: Montreal OR Toronto

Role & Responsibilities:
  1. Work through logistics of opening new stores
  2. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of retail operating policies and procedures
  3. Ensure to review retail profitability as it relates to operating expenses
  4. Point of contact for clients and different vendors through the whole project
  5. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure financial and operational goals are met
  6. Deliver against specific, divisional business objectives that are identified at the beginning of the projects
  7. Fully understand all aspects of the clients business and the competitive business environment
  8. Interact with clients on major issues and ensure client relationships are positive and growing
  9. Manage conflict, incite discussion, and make difficult decisions
  10. Assist in building and championing integration of the business by leading and facilitating cross-divisional discussion and planning
  11. Direct and have a positive impact on projects, teams and clients by providing direction and a vision to follow
  12. Ensure that you produce all client work with highest level of quality, on time and on budget
  13. Ensure strategies are being met on multiple ongoing projects
  14. Provide input into staffing plans and budgets
  15. Deliver superior operations presentations
  16. Represent the agency externally, via conferences and thought leadership
  17. Ensure familiarity with agency resources and tools such that recommendations, services, and incremental assignments can be sold in for other Match divisions
  18. Deliver/manage several million in revenue/billings
  19. Practice related project work which may include:
  1. Merchandising (ideally cosmetics)
  2. Retail (Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, Jean Coutu, …)
  3. Ability to travel to support teams, clients and projects as needed
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 5 years of agency experience primarily in Retail Merchandising
  2. Prefer someone with experience in cosmetics merchandising and retail operations with big retailers like Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Jean Coutu
  3. Fully Bilingual – French & English is mandatory
  4. Minimum 5 years of experience working in a supervisory or management capacity leading an operations/merchandising team
  5. Ability to lead a remote workforce
  6. Experience in working with clients on a day-to-day basis
  7. Ability to develop and implement action plans to achieve results
  8. Proven ability to build solid and trusted relationships
  9. Proven success working with cross-functional teams that deliver positive results
  10. Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  11. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  12. A self-starter able to work autonomously
  13. Solution mindset – ability to drive projects forward through the potential barriers and guide internal and external stakeholders through each step
  14. Meticulous attention to detail
  15. Sound industry knowledge, solid judgement, and excellent strategic planning skills
  16. Entrepreneurial spirit
  17. Strong financial management expertise
  18. High standard of professionalism and business ethics
  19. Ability to travel (20 – 40% of the time depending on the time of year, client, and programs at hand)
