Position Summary/Objective:

As a Senior Project Engineering Specialist, you enhance the company’s performance by:

  1. Designing and implementing new manufacturing and packaging processes in accordance to GMP
  2. Initiating and executing capacity expansion projects
  3. Providing subject matter expertise in new equipment introduction and project management
  4. Reducing manufacturing costs through automation and continuous improvement
  5. Increasing the OEE of existing processes
  6. Demonstrating stakeholder and contractor management
  7. Establishing ways of working to execute innovations right first time
  8. Providing coaching and mentoring to team members and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s Core Values
  2. Lead project origination, evaluation, vendor selection and negotiation activities through to commissioning
  3. Project management in developing and executing project justification, risk analysis, cost estimates, budget management, timelines, scope management, and ROI.
  4. Scope and develop comprehensive capital budget in a formal project investment proposal
  5. Prepare User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new equipment and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), installation, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  6. Generate technical bid packages for contractors prior to project execution
  7. Design equipment/plant layout in conjunction with stakeholders with safety, ergonomics, efficiency and material/people flow in mind.
  8. Manage contractors and stakeholders through effective communication and ways of working
  9. Establish and execute handover processes to ensure innovations are executed right first time
  10. Collaborate with all departments to identify opportunities and execute efficiently
  11. Demonstrate OWNERSHIP by originating and implementing continuous improvement projects with a sense of urgency
  12. Pursue learning opportunities that will assist the company in launching new products and deploying new technologies
  13. Keeps the work atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming
Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. No direct reports.

Education & Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 8 years experience in capital project management in the CPG industry (Food Manufacturing preferred)
  2. Passion for the food industry and the field of engineering
  3. Experience working with cross-functional teams to meet project deliverables
  4. Experience working in a plant manufacturing environment
  5. Undergraduate degree in Engineering, PEng an asset
  6. Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
  7. TEAM player with a positive attitude
  8. PASSIONATE with a positive attitude with a desire to learn and collaborate
  9. Exceptional time management and organizational skills, self-starter with a high level of initiative and ADAPTABILITY
  10. Demonstrates HUMILITY throughout the company on a daily basis
  11. Aptitude to exhibit, RESPECT and protect Riverside’s Core Values in a changing environment
