Job Description:

Accounts Receivable Technician - Maternity Leave from the Company Prince Albert Housing Authority. This position is open to job seekers with a Bachelor Degree in accounting or related fields.

Job Responsibilities:

As a member of the Finance team, the Accounts Receivable Technician reports to the General Manager/Manager, Finance. The key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintain up-to-date accounts receivable ledger.
  2. Provide regular late and arrears rent reporting to Tenant Relations.
  3. Create and send late Rent and Maintenance letters to tenants.
  4. Run and post monthly recurring billing in JD Edwards.
  5. Manage the Collection Process of previous tenants.
  6. Prepare monthly preauthorized payments in JD Edwards and send them to the bank 3 days prior to the last day of the month.
  7. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and audits as requested.
  8. Prepare, complete, and distribute reports as requested.
  9. Enter rent adjustments or other charges in JD Edwards as required by Tenant Services.
  10. Follow up with move-out charges or security deposit refunds.
  11. Forward unpaid accounts of former tenants to Credit Collections as requested by Senior Financial Officer.
  12. Prepare a monthly accounts receivable report for the Board.
  13. Assist Office Assistants with taking phone calls, receiving rent payments, and general inquiries.
  14. Assist Senior Financial Officer with preparation of payroll as required.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Accounting Diploma from a recognized post-secondary college with one to three years related work experience.
  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, and JD Edwards or similar accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative, judgment, accuracy, and adaptability to change.
  • Promotes a positive image for the housing authority and embraces diversity.
  • Maintains confidentiality and is bondable.
Working Conditions:

Long hours using computer and telephone, sitting, and standing. Exposure to communicable disease, verbal abuse, and difficult tenants may occur. Some heavy lifting may be required.
