Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator (Graduate Student Services) for the Learning Centers. This role involves multifaceted responsibilities designed to enhance the academic journey of graduate students.

Key Duties
  • Provides personalized one-on-one academic coaching to graduate students, along with the development and delivery of academic workshops, online resources, and small group programs.
  • Programs across offices, with an emphasis on curating a comprehensive calendar of academic support activities throughout the year, managing event logistics, and collaborating with campus resources to address specific course and skill needs.
  • Provides administrative support including facilitating training workshops, aiding in the planning and execution of academic services in partnership with various departments, and managing administrative tasks such as purchasing and payroll.
  • Involves managing communications channels, disseminating relevant information through social media and email platforms, and organizing informational sessions to engage with graduate students and promote services.
  • Supervises undergraduate office assistants and graduate interns when available, including the recruitment, training, and termination of these positions.
  • Supports assessment initiatives to evaluate student needs and program effectiveness is integral to continuously improving service delivery and meeting students’ evolving needs.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree with a background in education or a related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good communication skills; and computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in academic support in higher education, or two years of other relevant experience in program coordination.
  • Degree in higher education or psychology, or related to adult learning.
  • Doctorate or terminal degree.
  • Academic coaching and/or teaching experience.
  • This position will use software related to room scheduling, data management, and student records.
  • Must be able to use computer, teleconferencing, and presentation systems.
Special Conditions
  • Must be able to travel between New Brunswick campuses throughout the day.
