This position is open to Allied Health professions (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist). Reporting to the Manager of the Stroke Early Supported Discharge (SESD) Team, within the Edmonton Zone Neuro Rehabilitation Program, the Clinical Team Lead provides leadership to an interprofessional rehabilitation team. SESD provides neurorehabilitation assessment and intervention in outpatient community settings, primarily in the patient's home, but at times also in other contextually and goal appropriate environments, which may also include virtual therapy treatments. The responsibility of a Clinical Team Lead is to ensure that care is holistic, client / family centered, is evidence-based, and that it meets the best practice standards. The Clinal Team Lead provides clinical leadership, facilitation, mentorship, delegation, and supervision to the team; ensures appropriate assignment of duties to team members; and provides day-to-day performance feedback, as well as participates in staff development. The Clinical Team Lead collaborates with staff, management, program coordinators, quality improvement consultants and physicians in providing direction on program growth, program initiatives, and program development. The SESD Team is connected to many other stakeholders including allied health, coordinators, and physicians along the continuum of care, around the Edmonton zone, and throughout the province. This is a complex leadership position requiring the ability to collaborate with a variety of disciplines and patient care areas. Only applicants with attached resumes will be considered.

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area.

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Completion of a recognized degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. Active registration with the respective professional college. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. Demonstrated leadership, education, and group facilitation skills. Five years of clinical experience with a minimum of 3 years recent experience in neuro rehabilitation/community rehabilitation. Demonstrated continuing education in neuro rehabilitation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a client / family centered team of professional and support staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to meet varying clinical and operational needs. Proven initiative, analytical thinking, and conflict resolution skills. Advanced computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and data analysis/reporting. Experience using Connect Care. Experience in providing delegation/assignment and supervision to support personnel who are conducting assigned tasks or service components.

Advanced knowledge of Connect Care and/or Super User Training for Connect Care. Demonstrated continuing education in leadership. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a leadership role is considered an asset. Experience with change management and quality improvement an asset.
