Data and BI Expert - Job Description

Here is your chance to join the GFT Canada team as a Data and Business Intelligence (BI) expert for our Guidewire business unit (GW BU) and Business Development Canada (BDC) function. Guidewire is a software solution and a complete ecosystem for P&C insurance companies. Our Business Development Canada function is responsible for developing market-driven service offerings.

You will be encouraged to explore and understand all the features and applications offered by Guidewire and other industry-leading solutions available on the market. As a Data and BI practice expert in our GW BU and BDC teams, you will have the opportunity to be in contact with GFT clients to understand their needs and advise them on the implementation of Data and BI solutions and best practices.

You will have the following responsibilities to enable our go-forward growth and pave the way for the evolution of our Data and BI service offering and practice in Canada:

  • Lead solution development and RFI/RFP response related to Data and BI service offerings
  • Develop Data and BI service offering strategies including solution analysis, skills/capability development, and implement go-to-market plans to enable sales and delivery teams
  • Work with clients to understand their business requirements and provide appropriate solution recommendations
  • Collaborate, develop, and maintain relationships with CUs (Client Units), PSU (Professional Services Unit), and solution partners
  • Conduct industry research on Data and BI solutions and provide strategic insights
  • Identify Data and BI service offering enhancements and opportunities based on market and customer feedback
Experience and skills sought
  • Ability to manage multiple subjects and manage priorities, particularly to offer a timely response to any sales opportunity request;
  • Must be bi-lingual (fluent in English and French) in both verbal and written communication;
  • Highly effective in writing and developing clear and concise customer-facing documentation and has extensive experience in simplifying complex concepts and solutions;
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in selling and or consulting on technology solutions (such as AI, Data and BI) and their application to business problems;
  • Ability to understand the needs of customers to respond appropriately;
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to understand and apply GFT's service offerings to customer needs;
  • Availability and ability to work variable hours, including outside regular working hours;
  • Highly organized and data-driven with an ability to quickly understand the big picture while demonstrating the ability to pay attention to and execute on the details;
  • Knowledge and experience in financial services (Insurance, Banking, Wealth Asset Management) is an asset;
  • Familiar with the Guidewire environment or GOSU programming is an asset.
