Student/Co-op Accounting (Junior Accountant)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing monthly client billings, A/R collection, and assisting Project Accountant with cash flow.
  • Reconciling transactions, budget, and expense reports for monthly reporting.
  • Assisting in the month-end close process by updating various schedules and posting monthly close entries, and assisting with monthly reporting packages.
  • Provide reporting for consolidation and presentation to Senior Management and the Finance team.
  • Assist with forecasting, project recoveries, and vendor/supplier reconciliations.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of suppliers, vendors, and client billings.
  • Prepare ad hoc research on accounting rules and best practices in accounting/finance.
  • Support accounting software migration project.
  • Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives within the overall financial function.
  • Entering data into the accounting and energy data systems and updating Excel spreadsheets.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance with policies and procedures for internal audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Currently studying in the field of accounting, finance, business management, or related field.
  • Technical competence to ensure that the work is executed and completed as planned with the direction received from your manager.
  • Well versed with software applications and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
  • Good listening skills and the ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Efficient, organized, and able to produce high quality in a timely fashion.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of office/plant team members.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
