Position Summary: We are seeking multiple skilled Aerospace Manufacturing Methods Specialists to develop and maintain precise manufacturing documentation for our aircraft, sub-assemblies, and components. This role is crucial for ensuring our assembly processes align with design specifications and enhance operational efficiency. You will collaborate with various internal teams, tackle technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update Engineering Masters (EM) and Work Instructions (WI) to outline parts, processes, sequence, and special instructions for manufacturing and assembly.
- Create Assembly Manuals detailing requirements and instructions for structural, system, and electrical assemblies on aircraft.
- Specify tools and equipment necessary for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Revise and maintain supplemental planning documents to define aircraft assembly and sub-assembly build sequences.
- Record and submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to improve efficiency and quality, including Make vs Buy decisions.
- Investigate manufacturing issues, analyze potential solutions, and evaluate the cost, impact, and risks of changes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and internal/external audits.
- Support Planning with Non-Conformance Management Tasks and assist in developing plans to enhance efficiency, including new equipment acquisition.
- Contribute to technical skills training for manufacturing personnel and support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Assist in training Production, Quality Control, and Methods Engineering personnel, including co-op students.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience (e.g., Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Assembler).
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in a large component manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
- Prior experience in Manufacturing Engineering, planning, or Methods roles.
- Knowledge of aircraft parts fabrication and assembly.
- Familiarity with cost accounting and cost estimating.
- Understanding of aerospace engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft engineering drawings.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA).
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong multitasking abilities, innovative thinking, and good decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills.
Health & Safety Requirements:
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and perform key physical tasks required for the role.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and confined spaces.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including maintaining a positive fit test for mask use.
