Skills and Responsibilities:

•Expertise in Web Application Firewalls (WAF) technologies, including deployment, configuration, tuning, and management.

•Deep understanding of web application security concepts, tools, and methods (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25).

•Familiarity with computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methods.

•Understanding of scripting and coding techniques (e.g., Python, JSON, APIs) for automation and customization of WAF rules and signatures.

•Proficiency in security architecture concepts and principles, especially pertaining to web application security and defense-in-depth.

•Knowledge of system, network, and OS hardening techniques as they relate to securing web applications.

•Awareness of cyber threats and vulnerability management specifically for web applications.

•Experience with security logging and monitoring for web applications, both on-premises and cloud-based platforms.

•Understanding of security policy management, particularly related to web application security.

•Acquaintance with identity and access management concepts, processes, and integrations as they pertain to web application security.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Administer the deployment, configuration, and tuning of Web Application Firewalls (WAF) across various environments (on-premises and cloud).

•Coordinate with Global Cybersecurity resources, Infrastructure teams, and Application/Product leads to manage WAF rules, signatures, and updates to protect web applications.

•Perform system administration and management on WAF platforms, including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.

•Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures for WAF, ensuring optimal protection against evolving web-based threats.

•Conduct regular WAF assessments to identify vulnerabilities and optimize rule sets and configurations for better protection.

•Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement automated workflows for WAF monitoring, incident response, and logging.

•Identify and resolve potential conflicts with the implementation of WAF and other cybersecurity tools, including testing and optimization of signatures and rules.

•Assist in assessing the impact of WAF deployment on existing infrastructure and ensure seamless integration.

•Provide technical expertise in developing and executing incident response procedures related to web application security breaches.

•Stay current with the latest web security trends, vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence to proactively update WAF configurations and defenses.
