The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong background in investment or fund accounting, ideally within the private funds, pension funds, or fund administration industries.


Our Client

  • Is a growing private equity firm located in downtown Toronto.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and book daily transactions, track investment information (cost, unfunded commitment, etc.).
  • Reconcile cash, holdings, and capital activity, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare calculations or supporting schedules for management fees, carried interest, and investor allocations for each NAV cycle.
  • Maintain books and records and calculate fund and investment Net Asset Values (NAV).
  • Process daily underlying investment correspondence.
  • Prepare investor P&L allocations, including distribution waterfalls and capital call and distribution notices.
  • Liaise with the fund administrator to complete activities.
  • Prepare NAV workbooks, financial statements, and partner capital statements.
  • Participate in the annual audit process, including the preparation of audited financial statements and note disclosures.
  • Assist with the implementation of new project


Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional designations (e.g., CPA, CFA) are considered a plus.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in investment or fund accounting, preferably within the Private Equity industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with an entrepreneurial approach and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Meticulous focus on accuracy, with a strong interest in automation and process improvement to enhance efficiency.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage projects independently, and drive results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment, maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • A high standard of professionalism and integrity in all business dealings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Fund Accounting software.
