POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this role is to lead all warehousing, inventory management and material movements between manufacturing sites in Canada and third party warehouses supporting manufacturing sites in Canada. This will include meeting operational KPIs, assessing resources to ensure the needs of the business are met, managing cost, optimizing third party usage and spend, developing capability and being forward looking to develop strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position sits on the Operational Leadership Team of Canada and has a shared accountability for Canadian performance.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Management

  • Develop 3 years Goals and Strategy for Plant Logistics Organization based on Manufacturing Goals/Strategy and industry benchmarks in Plant warehousing operations. Convert Strategy into action Plan on Yearly basis, Develop 90 days actions, track/monitor progress.
  • Define key KPI (In-process measures) of warehousing operations to achieve Cost and Cash goals of Plant/Business. Monitor the progress through and deliver the results.
  • Engage internal warehousing team and 3PL interfaces to drive strategy to action and goal achievement. Own the process to deploy goals/action to individuals in the group.
  • Create/monitor operating budgets for warehousing operations across the Canada Manufacturing campus.
  • Responsible for ELC site warehouses and third party partners supporting manufacturing operations. Maintain compliance with Corporate and Government policies such as: Sarbanes Oxley, Environmental Health and Safety, FDA, QA, HR and GMP.
  • Build strong relationships with 3rd party leaders to ensure programs are completed in a timely fashion. Maximize value stream from 3PL partners with end-2-end view of material flow from raw materials/components to finished goods.

Organization & Leadership Development

  • Lead a group of 40+ employees and 40+ contractors in warehousing operations via 4 Direct reports.
  • Define needed Plant Logistics organization structure, capabilities and system and lead change management execution.
  • Approve annual merit increases, resolve conflicts, manage direct/indirect workforce, develop, review and approve exempt bonus objectives and payouts.
  • Develop and drive high performance organization cultural transformation, capabilities development in warehouse operations via daily management work process, PDCA and brand/consumer delight culture. Maintain employee relations.
  • Develop and manage direct reports Performance Development Plans that are in support of the business strategy and the individual’s continued growth.
  • Develop and implement the roadmap of self-directed team to deliver the highest business and organization performance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Strive for continuous improvement through the adoption and implementation of Operational Excellence programs.
  • Support the Integration of new technologies such as Automatic Storage and Retrieval systems, autonomous vehicles, and robotics applications within warehousing and logistics.
  • Digital Transformation – lead initiatives to engage both local and global partners to develop strategies and implement digital solutions within Warehousing and Logistics operations (ex: real-time visual shop floor programs, paperless operations, automatic system generated KPIs, and data analytics that drive business performance).

Change management and innovation delivery

  • Collaborate with operations and Planning teams to drive process changes.
  • Create the innovation culture and Kaizen systems.
  • Role model and embrace the changes.
  • Business Continuity Plan – Develop and monitor BCP plans for operations manufacturing warehouse operations.

Standard Management

  • Role model safety standards, culture and champion for the zero safety incidents.
  • Role model compliance and raise the bar on daily standard management.
  • Role model perfect quality culture through technical innovation, people capabilities and system.
  • Role model the 5S standard every day in and day out.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level: Tertiary Degree

Minimum Years of Experience: 7 years

Additional Job Specifications: This position has a multi-site responsibility within Canada. Ability to be able to travel autonomously between sites is required.

Though standard working hours are specified, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will have the agility to support the needs of the business as required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $124,600 to $186,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. In addition, The Estée Lauder Companies offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, education-related programs, paid holidays and vacation time, and many others. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company.
