Your Opportunity

Our Vancouver office is looking for a Junior Accountant to join the US
Corporate Tax team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Prepares US tax returns for business entities, corporations and partnerships.

  • Involved in US tax research for compliance and consulting engagements.

  • Communication with Internal Revenue Service, as well as State tax authorities

  • Collaborating with tax teams across the firm to build relationships and gain specialized expertise for client engagements.

  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team.

  • Build positive working relationships with clients and provide effective support for engagements.

How do we define success for your role?

  • You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.

  • You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.

  • You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.

  • You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.

  • You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

Your experience and education

  • You are in pursuit of your Canadian or US CPA designation.

  • You have 1+ years' experience in public accounting with exposure to US Tax.

  • You are motivated to gain expertise in US Tax.

  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.

  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
