Responsibilities

Implement policies, procedures, and techniques for gathering and analyzing data.

Identify data and reporting needs of users, delivering insights to assist with fact-based decision making.

Clearly and concisely communicate actionable insights to a diverse audience across all levels of the organization.

Provide guidance in the use of data tools, technologies, and visualization.

Manage corporate data ensuring integrity, availability, and confidentiality.

Manage database systems and functions including, but not limited to:

  • Performance and availability.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Life cycle management.
  • Authentication, authorization, and access control.

Manage cloud-based data solutions:

  • Provide data visualizations.
  • Maintain, design, and implement data integrations.
  • Authentication, authorization, and access control.
  • Maintain Google Cloud Platform infrastructure related to data ingestion, modeling, and visualization services.
  • Maintain on premise Looker business intelligence and visualization tool set.

Participate in custom business application development.

Integrate data related detail into custom corporate applications using a web focused technology stack.

Provide advanced user support for applications in the IT Application Portfolio.

Evaluate and recommend future data related applications, methodologies, systems, and technologies.

Qualifications

A degree or equivalent experience in any of the following:

  • Computer science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Data science

Skilled in data analysis and programing, business intelligence and modern data management techniques.

Proficient with the following technologies and services:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Server Reporting Services
  • Microsoft Server Integration Services
  • Google BigQuery, DataFusion, and Dataproc services
  • Looker business intelligence toolset
  • Javascript, CSS, HTML
  • NodeJs
  • Angular
  • Git and GitLab project management tools
  • Docker container management platform
  • Container orchestration systems Docker Swarm and Kubernetes

Familiar with DevOps processes, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.

Intangibles

Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality.

Have a sense of humor.

Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.

Hours outside of the norm are required on occasion.

Reliable transportation because no public transport to the area.
