Based in our Corporate Office in downtown Vancouver, Hunter Dickinsons Inc. (HDI) is looking for a Senior Manager Resource Geology to work with HDI’s accomplished team. Hunter Dickinson Inc. (“HDI”) is a private and diversified, global mining group characterized by the commitment and drive of its founders. Over HDI’s 30-year history it has discovered and developed 12 projects globally, that have been or are currently being mined, and two others that are now fully permitted for mine construction.


About the Role - Hunter Dickinson is looking for an experienced, hard-working, self-starting Senior Manager Resource Geology who works well in a team and is excited about growing with a strong exploration and development company. Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the team. This individual will manage the resource database team and provide geological input and technical expertise to existing and future mineral exploration and development projects, coordinate geological and assay data acquisition, assess QA/QC of exploration data and prepare and contribute to geological and technical reports. Based in Vancouver, the Senior Manager Resource Geology will report to HDI’s Vice President of Resource & Database.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise the resource database management team.
  • Set protocols for geological data management, sampling, geochemical analysis QA/QC.
  • Review and assess and QA/QC geological and geochemical results.
  • Prepare and contribute to geological, geochemical, and technical reports.
  • Provide reports and digital compilations for exploration, development, and management staff.
  • Provide geological input and technical support for exploration and development projects.
  • Contribute to geological modeling, mineral resource, and reserve studies.
  • Manage the sample and equipment warehouse in Surrey, BC.
  • Participate and contribute to special projects and other related duties as required.


Qualifications

  • This position requires a minimum of a B.Sc. or B.A.Sc. in geology or equivalent in a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years in mineral exploration with geological field experience.
  • Registered professional with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
  • Ability to act as a qualified person as defined by NI-43101.
  • A thorough understanding of mineral data acquisition practices, procedures, and QA/QC.
  • Proficiency with database software, acquisition, management and modeling tools, including for example SQL, DataShed, MX Deposit, Microsoft Excel, Leapfrog, Access, and Vulcan.
  • Experience working with large and diverse geological and geochemical data sets.
  • Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.


Base Salary Range

A reasonable estimate of the annualized base salary pay range is CAD$105,000 - CAD$130,000 (gross) at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
