Title: EHS&S Technician – Hydrocarbons

Contract length: 12 months + extension after annual performance review

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 2P4 (Onsite)



Provides hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant.

Prepare and deliver comprehensive EHS reports and presentations to stakeholders, utilizing advanced administrative acumen to compile data, analyze trends, and communicate insights effectively, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with organizational safety and environmental standards.

Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments.

Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

Field-walks into operating plants/businesses/areas will be an expectation for this role.

The EH&S Technician will provide support for the AB Ops Hydrocarbons unit and shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate.


REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or Some College -2 yr. EH&S Diploma required/NAIT or equivalent.

Some College -2 yr. EH&S Diploma required/(EHS NAIT or equivalent)

At least 3- 5 years of related experience

Overtime expectations for the spring and fall outages in the unit – typical 6 & 1 schedule / 10-12 hrs./day for several weeks.
