Position Overview

Reitmans (Canada) Limited (RCL) is looking for a General Manager for the RW&CO Brand, to drive profitable and sustainable growth, champion innovation and guide and elevate the Brand, RCL and our talented people to the next level.

Reporting to Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager will be responsible for all business activities across Canada for the brand. The General Manager is accountable and empowered to drive growth and profitability through the strategic direction of all Merchandising, Planning & Allocation, Sales & Operations, Integrated Marketing & Visual Presentation strategies, propelling the brand identity and aligning with RCL's overarching vision.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the implementation of growth strategies across multiple marketing channels, visual presentation, planning & allocation, sales and operations and customer relationship interface strategies.
  2. Champion the customer centric mindset to enhance and support brand DNA.
  3. Accountable for the Brand's sustainable growth and profitability within existing and new markets.
  4. Drive business opportunities by designing innovative business strategies that leverage strengths and optimize resources.
  5. In collaboration with COO, directly shape operational capabilities, real estate portfolio, product lines and financial metrics.
  6. Oversee day-to-day operations of the brand departments, maintain budgets and optimize expenses. Ensures assets are used efficiently and responsibly to maximize share value.
  7. Lead the Brand with a clearly defined sense of business direction and purpose. Serve as a role model for RCL's vision and values inspiring an engaging and innovative work environment conducive to team effectiveness that supports business goals and objectives. Foster a culture focused on performance and collaboration.
Qualifications

Requirements:
  1. A strategic thinker: able to develop a global perspective and vision for the business.
  2. A sharp business leader: Proven experience managing P&L, top and bottom line oriented. A proven track record in growing and leveraging a brand while delivering growth and profitability.
  3. A performance driver and change agent: A strong capacity to drive change and lead business transformations for greater business agility. Proven success in managing a high-performance senior management team who will lead flawless execution, ensuring effective business processes and KPIs are in place to support the realization of the business strategy.
  4. An innovative and collaborative leader: Natural ability to inspire new ideas, promote a collaborative environment within all teams and at all levels. A strong ability to develop and leverage their network and relationships within RCL as well as external stakeholders.
  5. A superior coach and communicator: Able to create and communicate an engaging vision to the team, inspiring commitment, energy, and a desire to excel and bring out one's best contribution to the organization's mission and goals. One who leads by example and acts consistently with the organization's values and principles.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Bachelor degree in related field of study.
  2. Fifteen (15) + years of progressive experience in retail with a minimum of 7 years within a senior executive role.
  3. Bilingual.
