The Canada Trade Manager will be responsible for exceeding growth and margin responsibilities for the Canadian site. This role will oversee all aspects of our online sales platform, leading a team of merchandising professionals focused on optimizing the customer journey, enhancing and improving our SEO rankings, improving path to purchase, enhancing search, and working in close partnership with our technology partners in road mapping, ultimately building a best-in-class customer experience for all our fans.

Outside of managing commercial performance of the Canadian site, this role will work in conjunction with our global partners to push local initiatives and inform the global product roadmap. The candidate will need to demonstrate undeniable cross-functional collaboration, effectively influence prioritizations, and execute communication. You will bring a deep understanding of what it takes to build a digital experience and can leverage industry research and trends to drive key objectives. The role requires someone who can gain strategic partnership and be a vocal and daring advocate for the future of digital commerce.

This role is highly cross-functional and requires exceptional time management, prioritization, and innovation to optimize internal operations and improve efficiencies across the value chain. This person needs to advocate for customer experience and understand product purchasing affinities and barriers to conversion.

This person should also have experience with marketplace growth strategies and identifying white space as opportunities for both revenue growth and new customer activation.

This person will report directly to the VP of Ecommerce for North America in our Toronto office and will be incredibly visible to NAM and Global leadership teams. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence three days a week and occasional travel to NYC and our Copenhagen headquarters. The ideal candidate will partner closely with our country senior leadership across multiple divisions including but not limited to Merchandising, Marketing, Customer Experience, Retail, etc., as well as our Global partners in Copenhagen. This role is an amazing opportunity to support a growing North American business, gain senior leadership exposure, and help inform the Global expansion plans.

Key cross-functional partnerships are needed across the local e-commerce team, merchandising, marketing, retail, finance, operations, and customer experience teams.

Help develop and actualize the e-Commerce Canadian strategy, working closely with the HQ Global E-commerce Teams, Retail, Marketing, Merchandising, Customer Experience, Finance, and Logistics teams to meet US and company-wide ambitions.

Maximize online sales and drive impact through partnerships with Site Merchandising, Digital Marketing, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), Web Analytics and Insight, Omnichannel services, Customer Care, Returns, and Damages.

P&L ownership, ensuring delivery of budget, sales analysis, and weekly forecasts.

Advocate and influence senior management for the support and implementation of strategic initiatives; conduct competitive analysis, identify risk and reward opportunities.

Prepare sales reviews and presentations for both team and senior leadership, as well as updates to strategic initiatives, directive changes, key metrics, and actionable insights for senior management and HQ.

Manage end-to-end operational activities to ensure seamless order fulfillment and delivery processes to achieve Customer Satisfaction and Business Unit objectives. Increase omnichannel sales and maximize cross-functional synergies while ensuring consistency of customer experience and brand positioning and presentation.

Lead and develop a high-performing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their own development goals.

Develop an SEO strategy in partnership; conduct keyword research, content optimization, and technical audits to target key opportunities for unbranded growth.

Analyze search data and user behavior to identify opportunities for enriching search. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Equivalent combination of experience and education accepted.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience working in e-commerce in either a leadership site merchandising or commercial strategy role.
  3. At least 5 years of people management experience; specifically in evaluating, developing, and hiring teams.
  4. Experience with Salesforce, Adobe or similar reporting suite, Content Square.
  5. Executive presence – this role will report directly to the VP of North American Ecommerce and will interface with local senior leaders as well as Global levels in the executive layer.
  6. You have expertise in E-Commerce industry best practices and keep abreast of the latest disruptions/trends/new technologies in the digital landscape.
  7. Strong negotiator with demonstrated success in negotiating both internally and with external counterparts.
  8. Extremely well organized and able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders with ease.
  9. Excellent attention to detail and quality of work.
  10. Must be able to thrive in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing environment.
  11. Proactive and results-oriented.
  12. Strong bias for action, relentless about driving and owning your own business – can operate in full autonomy.
