Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer at Zelus, you will play a crucial role in the future of equipment design. You will lead the creation of innovative 2D & 3D models, develop detailed assembly and shop drawings, and produce essential technical documentation to propel projects forward. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with our estimating/sales, service, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing concept and production drawings
  • Reviewing and sealing designs
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Contributing to cost estimation, product sourcing, and site visits
  • Upholding a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Mechanical or Structural (Civil) Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of Overhead Crane experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks CAD software
  • Experience in designing machine-welded assemblies and familiarity with structural design principles
  • Knowledge of CSA S16 and CMAA specifications is an asset
  • Proficiency in office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment in resolving customer service issues
