We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our stationary products team. The successful candidate should have engineering experience and background with a degree in a relevant engineering field from a college or university.

The role will require working within a cross-disciplinary team of engineers to sustain and develop new electromechanical systems and products. The successful candidate should have knowledge and experience in Mechanical Engineering, good design practices, and product lifecycle. Project involvement will be from the design stage through to production and will span across various departments within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain design and documentation for existing products
  • Contribute to the design of new products
  • Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
  • Generate new documentation to aid production such as assembly instructions, OMM's, data sheets, etc.
  • Inspect and verify incoming parts for compliance with the design
  • Understand/monitor cost and schedule
  • Build and test prototypes
  • Assist in the first production builds – Some travel may be required
  • Support sustaining work through ECO's
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • We work in a fast-paced environment and, as such, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter and should be comfortable with working independently and taking ownership of projects
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Exceptional 2D and 3D CAD software skills required (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team (any overlapping experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of working with PLM/PDM
