We are seeking a self-motivated and eager individual to join our Human Resources team as a Recruitment Specialist. Reporting to the HR Manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to attract and hire high caliber candidates to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and to assist the Human Resources team with all recruitment activities and initiatives.

As a Recruitment Specialist, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, screen and interview potential candidates
  • Conduct reference checks and employment verification
  • Review staffing requirements and recommend hiring strategies
  • Track and analyze hiring data in order to fill positions in a timely manner
  • Present hiring data to senior management at quarterly meetings
  • Stay current with legislative changes and evolving employment standards
  • Effectively communicate all recruitment initiatives and changes to the front line staff
  • Create and manage job postings and recruitment materials
  • Attend job fairs and identify other recruiting opportunities
  • Create and deliver recruitment training and consultation

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business/Commerce/Human Resources) or diploma in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalency is required
  • Specialization in Human Resources preferred; prior co-op or summer student experience an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of provincial employment standards
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written English)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and independence
  • Great interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills

COMPENSATION
The annual starting salary for this position is $53, 841.82 with three weeks’ vacation to start. We offer a competitive benefits package.
