Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Welder/Fitter at SMI Automation. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for tasks such as material layout to engineering drawings, verifying components meet design intent and are located within tolerances specified, MIG welding, and working with various steel materials to create precision components and fabrications for automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong skill set in process planning, using various basic measuring devices and a strong desire to create high-precision quality products.


Qualifications

  • MIG Welding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Certification in welding or relevant field is a plus
  • Physical strength and stamina for manual labor
  • Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing is beneficial
