As the Quality and Standards Coordinator you will act as the lead in the Creating Excellence Together (CET) process and be responsible for providing guidance, direction and training to staff and leadership throughout the CET process under the direction of the Director, Organizational Effectiveness and CEO, in accordance with Agency policies and accreditation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the collaboration and communication efforts with internal stakeholders and external accreditation bodies
  • Monitor all departments, for compliance with CET standards and indicators through policies/procedures
  • Chair the Quality Assurance Committee and guide its initiatives in a manner that is constructive and consistent with developing quality improvement programs and preparing staff for accreditation requirements
  • Provide leadership for communicating with families, and clients on a regular basis particularly throughout the first year of service. Liaise with internal staff on an as-needed basis to ensure service delivery effectively meets the family and client expectations
  • Responsible for the accumulation, communication, routing, and dissemination of information to the appropriate stakeholders. This includes internal and external satisfaction surveys, outcome measurement reports, accreditation survey schedules, requirements and other reports as required
  • Plan and coordinate all activities associated with certification. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Complete PDD 3-6 month and annual reporting process and send to funder monthly, prior to deadline
  • Planning the process for the CET self-study guide, including preparation surveys and directing follow-up processes
  • Acting as the liaison between DDRC and the Alberta Council of Disability Services, (the certifying body) remain current on all current standards and best practices in the disability services sector
  • Conduct client satisfaction surveys using telephone and one-on-one interviews, then provide recommendations to the Executive team as it relates to a) client intake, b) client orientation, and c) service reviews
  • Reviewing, compiling, and circulating all survey and outcome measure reports and statistics in accordance with guidelines
  • Preparing and training staff who have little working knowledge of the certification requirements
  • Remain current with research concerning CET standards and best practices in the disability services sector
  • Recommend and develop appropriate data-gathering mechanisms, procedures, surveys, etc., for all departments of the Agency
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed
  • Attend and organize meetings to update stakeholders on CET initiatives as required, both on and off site
  • Provide ongoing support to all departments in a proactive manner
  • Ensure the DDRC is compliant with CET accreditation standards
  • Report findings from client data collection on a continuous basis and give recommendations to Executive team for actions based on the results, gaps and trends
  • Research best methodology to provide key information from telephone interviews, one-on-one interviews, questionnaire design and survey development
  • Develop, update and seek approval for changes to agency forms, glossary, and spreadsheets that align with DDRC Standards and Style Guide
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Director, Organizational Effectiveness
What You Bring To The Role

  • Takes accountability to ensure all mandatory certifications and training are kept current
  • An undergraduate degree in related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 3+ Years of working experience in a related research field
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically and systemically
  • Demonstrate analytical reasoning, to facilitate prioritizing/planning/executing initiatives
  • Proficient in MS Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, and accurately maintain reports/records/spreadsheets, etc.
  • Analytical reporting capabilities with the ability to quickly implement actions to maximize results
  • Experience in research design, methodology and statistics analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with a wide range of individuals from all Agency departments and from various external agencies
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with ACDS Creating Excellence Together Standards
