The IWC has a significant opportunity to improve the health of Indigenous Peoples in Alberta by focusing on upstream efforts and health equity, creating and building on community empowerment and action, and transforming health service delivery to address racism and focus more on determinants of health and prevention. The IWC is the mechanism through which AHS plans to achieve on-going provincial improvement in Indigenous health, patient outcomes and experience, health improvement and sustainability of Alberta’s health system. Reporting to the Executive Director, IWC Operations, the Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL) leads optimization work of Connect Care for the Indigenous Wellness Core and coordinates ongoing upgrades, clinical design work and future build considerations. This role works with the Clinical Informatics (CI) team within the various operational portfolios as well as with various Zone Clinical Informatics teams. The CI Lead develops and maintains a strong relationship with the internal IWC stakeholders and external stakeholders within the zone and across the province.
