Job Title : Staff Software Engineer Location : Toronto, OntarioJob Type : Full TimeOur Client is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to take ownership of designing and developing complex, multi-platform application systems. This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical architecture, establish best practices, and mentor engineering teams while driving innovation and scalability.What You'll Do:Collaborate with a dynamic team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.Act as a tech lead, owning technical design and development for cross-functional, fault-tolerant systems.Continuously improve developer experience by identifying gaps in frameworks and tools.Define and enforce engineering best practices, including code review standards.Provide technical leadership and problem-solving expertise to ensure consistent quality.Contribute to architecture design using High-Level Design (HLD) methodology and assess emerging technologies.Mentor junior and intermediate developers on engineering standards and practices.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.8+ years of hands-on development experience, preferably with Java or other object-oriented languages.8+ years of experience in application and/or data design, architecture, and development.Strong experience with AWS (highly preferred) or other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).Proven ability to mentor team members and guide technical and business stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:10+ years of experience leading the full software development lifecycle.Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
