Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer defines and implements a predictive and preventative maintenance program to anticipate these malfunctions. In this role, you will report to the Mechanical Superintendent.He/She carries out reliability studies (criticality of equipment, analysis and recurrence of breakdowns), maintainability and availability studies by analyzing the information available via the various IT systems (SAP, CMMS, technical manufacturing management, etc.), and determines and monitors performance indicators. Work with maintenance and operations teams to establish reliability standards and best practices.In addition, he/she prepares scheduled mill shutdowns, proposes improvement solutions (methods and/or equipment), takes part in investment and works projects, manages spare parts stock and makes purchase requests, updates technical procedures and documentation. Compliance with safety and quality standards Ensure that all maintenance work complies with current safety standards. Participate in safety audits in connection with equipment maintenance. Equipment reliability analysis Perform root cause analyses of recurring faults (RCFA - Root Cause Failure Analysis). Set up and monitor performance indicators (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) and track their evolution. Draw up an equipment criticality plan to prioritize interventions. Development of maintenance strategies Participate in the development and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance plans. Propose and implement continuous improvement actions to enhance equipment reliability. Develop an equipment reliability program. Use methods such as RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance). Responsible for the OEE improvement loop. Setting quality and maintenance standards. Failure management In collaboration with the maintenance team, propose short- and long-term corrective solutions to reduce downtime. Develop corrective and preventive action plans to avoid recurring breakdowns. Supervise the implementation of technical modifications required to improve machine performance. Cost optimization Analyze maintenance costs and propose solutions to optimize resources and budgets while improving reliability. Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers of maintenance parts and services. Training and experience Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, College diploma in industrial maintenance or mechanical engineering; 5 to 10 years' experience in complex machinery maintenance, mechanical maintenance or related field; Member of a professional engineering association (asset); Any combination of experience and equivalent training will be considered. Personal characteristics and skills Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrate synthesis, communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong sense of priority management. In-depth knowledge of the full range of industrial maintenance processes (electrical, mechanical and building services preventive maintenance) and good reliability practices. Must be proficient in the use of computer systems (Office Suite). Knowledge of problem-solving principles.
