We specialize in providing medications for patients with chronic and complex medical conditions, such as HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and more. Our team consists of experienced pharmacists, technicians, and support staff who are dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to our patients.
About the Position:
We are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to join our Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy team. We are looking for a candidate who is reliable and organized , with excellent communication skills and capable of providing exceptional customer service . Preference will be given candidates who are proficient with Kroll Pharmacy Management Software and experienced in troubleshooting adjudication issues with public and private payers.
The Registered Practical Nurse will be primarily responsible for assisting our patients navigate insurance challenges and available provincial/federal programs to make their medications more affordable. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide injections or injection trainings as needed
May be required to perform injections and infusions
TB testing may be required
Communicate with patients, prescribers, healthcare professionals and other key player to support patients through their treatment journey
Verify and investigate insurance coverage and benefits for patients, including eligibility, co-payments, deductibles, and prior authorizations.
Gather and document information from patients/caregivers/prescribers in a concise, organized and professional manner
Complete, submit and follow-up on requisite paperwork in a timely manner
Liase with private and public insurance providers to determine coverage options
Act as a central liaison for stakeholders such as physicians, nurses, patients and clinics and provide required updates
Maintain confidentiality of patient healthcare information
Keep up-to-date with changes in insurance coverage and reimbursement policies, and communicate these changes to healthcare providers and patients.
Job Requirements:
Excellent customer services skills
Experience working with Patient Support Programs (Asset)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills- English & French (asset)
Reimbursement experience (asset)
Understanding of provincial and private drug coverage criteria
Familiarity with the Special Authorization process for both public and private insurance in assigned territory.
Strong computer and Technical skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, tablets, web-portals/internet use
Experience with Kroll Pharmacy Management System is an asset
Making decisions using sound judgment, and meeting deadlines.
Accurate data collection and data integrity
Ease with working in a paperless environment.
Ability to drive for results
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Strong sense of organization and attention to detail
Time management skills and the ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
