Reporting to the Director of Services for Seniors and Performance Improvement, the Decision Support Analyst supports clinical, financial, and human resources data analysis and reporting throughout the organization.
This role is proficient and familiar with database functionality, common tools and approaches for quantitative and qualitative analysis, data visualization, data quality, and making data accessible and digestible to a wide range of stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a collaborative approach are key skills needed for success in this role.Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of data reporting processes for business operations.
- Work with management, the Decision Support team, and the Director to prioritize and synthesize information needs.
- Provide processed data to team members as per their needs.
- Maintain a data repository to provide appropriate information that help in strategic planning and decision making.
- Gather and process project data, financial data and other business data as requested by management and the Director.
- Manage data integrity and accuracy of reporting systems.
- Test all upgrades and new systems for any errors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system problems in a timely fashion.
- Relevant Undergraduate degree (ex. Health Science, Computer Science, Applied Research, Psychology, Statistics, Epidemiology, Social Science) or relevant education and experience;
- Experience with community health sector databases (an asset);
- Two or more years of related experience, preferably in a health care setting;
Key skills and abilities we are looking for:
- An Undergraduate degree in Health Studies, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Social Science, or relevant education and experience
- 2 or more years related experience, preferably in a health care setting
- Experience in data quality management
- Knowledge of health care reporting requirements and familiarity with various databases used to capture information in various health sectors is an asset.
- Experience in report development including the design of standard and ad hoc reports for both internal and external purposes.
- Able to independently create scripts in R or Python for automation, analysis, and visualization.
- Experience using Power BI as a visualization tool.
Special Requirements:
- Criminal background check;
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to fulfill the needs of the position, as required;
- Attendance at external meetings from time to time will be required.
