What You Will Do Here
- Assisting line crew and other workers with the requisitioning, handling and transporting of materials as well as the dressing of poles and the assembling of towers and structures on the ground.
- Operate mechanical equipment including: digging machines, track vehicles, cranes, drills, jackhammers, stationary winches, tractor trailers, regular line trucks, trailers and backhoes.
- Operation of booms mounted on mobile vehicles and shall also include the transporting of transmission/distribution line materials from assembly site to erection site.
- Participating in safe job planning.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner, following all OHSA safety regulations and operate equipment on public roadways, always being aware of surroundings.
- Preventative maintenance of equipment and daily safety checks.
- Work collaboratively with crew.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Secure the load after it has been lifted and properly stow equipment, stabilizers, winches and any other moving parts.
- Keep loads as low to the ground as is reasonably safe when performing lifts.

What You Bring to the Team
- Experience as an Equipment Operator in the utility sector.
- Experience operating one or more of the following: Tractor Trailers (AZ), Bucket Trucks, Pole Trailers, Radial Boom Derrick, Cable Tensioner, Skid steer, Class 7 Forklift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and stand/walk for long periods of time. Excellent manual dexterity, flexibility, and physical strength
- Completed and holds a certificate for a recognized ground crew line support program is an advantage
- Ability to communicate with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and the public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Excellent depth perception, handeye coordination and a fast reaction time.
- Valid G driver's license and reliable transportation along with a DZ
- Willing to work overtime, as required.
