AECOM Buildings + Places , AECOM's Architectural business unit, is seeking a SeniorElectrical Engineer to join our team. This position is based out of our Canadian headquarters in Markham, ON with opportunities for hybrid work.

The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers Engineering, architectural and project management services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects.

Project assignments may include, although not limited to, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, water / waste water and transit facilities.
Developing various types of reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents
Preparing electrical drawings and specification
Implement design concept through the preparation and production of drawings to detail lighting, power, fire alarm, and specialty low voltage systems rough-ins (i.e. telecomm., intrusion control, security, CCTV, door access controls, etc.)
Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project
Conduct necessary research to gather industry, field, and project specific data
Working with prime consultants, engineering consultants, and contractors; responding to technical queries
Attending site meetings and site reviews complete with reportsa
Shop drawing reviews
Contractor`s change quotation reviews
Progress billing reviews
Fire alarm verification report reviews
Able to work to tight schedules, control project budgets and motivate staff to do the same
Sound judgment supported by excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Six (6)+ years of experience in the engineering consulting industry in a building engineering group

Prefer an individual with 10 (ten+) with extensiveelectrical design experience on transportation-related buildings and facilities such as subway stations.

Experience with Electrical load calculations, lighting design and analysis a plus
Experience in designing electrical power and lighting systems
Knowledge with power analysis tools such as SKM and/or ETAP
Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
Analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to technical excellence and quality
Valid driver's license
Some Project Management experience and training desired
Relocation is not available for this position.
