JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for guiding, coordinating, training, and leading the F&B team in all areas of front of house service for all outlets such as the restaurant, service, and events.

They are to assist and oversee all areas of F&B operation and complete administrative duties as assigned.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Assistant Food and Beverage managers responsibilities include, but not limited to
  • Responsible for assisting the KTCHN manager to meet service, sales, and profit objectives.
  • Manage labor according to the demand forecast provided by the Director of Hospitality to ensure efficient cost control and schedule staff accordingly.
  • Recruit and oversee staff training.
  • Works with F&B Manager to produce operational plans and budgets that maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Track sales and manage FOH inventory.
  • Estimate beverage consumption and place orders with suppliers.
  • Supervise and direct FOH staff in daily work activities.
  • Assist servers and host/hostess with seating guests, taking orders, serving, and handling complaints.
  • Manage floor plans and table assignments for servers.
  • Be available to all frontline staff and guests throughout service, interact with guests and members and be able to advise anyone on their food or beverage selections.
  • Assist the KTCHN Manager in the development of training materials, including but not limited to menu specs, beverage descriptions and selling features seasonally as the menus change.
  • Train and develop employees on standards of service, including menu items, allergies, serving size etc.
  • Assist with weekly inventory, ensure ordering is done as needed to ensure sufficient stock.
  • Perform Open/Close restaurant duties in accordance with daily checklists.
  • Responsible for totaling restaurant receipts and reconciling with sales daily as well as ensuring cash management procedures are completed accurately and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Create an engaging and energetic environment where all associates work as a team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, guests, and team members.
  • Works in collaboration with the events manager and director of hospitality to arrange the use of the Ktchn for weddings, receptions, and other events.
  • Assist in assessing staff requirements for the season and events.
  • Works in collaboration with the Golf team contributing to memberbased events and positive guest/ member experience.
  • Resolve conflict through service recovery and implement changes when necessary.
  • Demonstrates high personal integrity, business ethics and takes every opportunity to promote The Ktchn
  • Effectively enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to multitask, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fastpaced environment
  • Selfmotivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics
  • Positive attitude with strong communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset
  • Food Service Handler's certificate required.
  • Smart Serve certificate required.
  • May be required to work a rotating schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • First Aid Certificate an asset
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Successful reference and background check

JOB TYPE

  • Full Time 4044hours/week

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent Walking bending and standing
  • Able to lift up to 30Lbs.
  • Work inside and outside in varying temperatures.
