Overview:


The HR Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day on-site plant support to the plant management team and country HR department.

This role provides critical local competence to the talent acquisition and onboarding processes to ensure the respective plant delivers exceptional results by having the right people with the right skills and motivation.

In addition, this role will support the execution of annual HR activities at the plant, including but not limited to:
job descriptions, standard operating procedures, mid-year reviews, performance appraisals, development plans, talent review and succession planning, etc.

Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Demonstrates a commitment to a safe work environment. Understands the organization's safety objectives and supports these efforts visibly.

Recruitment:

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team with recruitment of talent at the plant level, organizes and participates in local recruitment activities to help identify talent for both salaried and hourly roles.
  • In addition, the HR Coordinator will work closely with hiring managers to develop and design job descriptions by conducting a needs analysis.
  • Lastly, the HR Coordinator will support managers in developing and monitoring onboarding plans.

Onboarding:

  • Support managers and supervisors in developing, implementing and monitoring onboarding plans.
  • Support new international employees where needed related to working permits / residency matters and act as a liaison to the HR team for relocations.

Training:

  • Support the plant in researching, finding and scheduling appropriate training based on the employees' needs, tracking progress and reporting to management, including the maintenance of training records for all site employees.
  • Accompany the plant leadership team in reviewing employee roles and responsibilities against the Cement Industrial Framework (CIF) and establish the creation of standard operating procedures (SOP) for each position.

Records:

  • Maintains and enhances employee and training records for all site employees.
  • Helps to identify gaps in skills within the organization and proposed effective opportunities to close those gaps.

HR Support:

  • Supports the execution of annual HR activities, including but not limited to: midyear reviews, performance appraisals, Individual Development Plans (IDP), Talent Review and Succession Planning (TRSP), etc.

Labour Relations:

  • Assists as required or assigned on labour relations matters, including providing research, recordkeeping and administrative support to the plant and HR/Labour Manager.
  • Works within the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) framework and with Labour Relations guidance as a local first point of contact on resolving HR issues for hourly employees as assigned.

Relationship with Other Jobs:

  • This role will have a high level of interaction with Plant Management, HR Managers, and Hourly & Salaried employees.

Qualifications:

Education:
_**- Degree in Human Resources, Business or relevant field.

  • CHRP certification an asset.

  • 1 to 3 years of HR administration/coordination experience (recruitment and organization development)
  • Ability to multitask and processoriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • HR experience in a labourintensive setting is an asset
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Language requirements based on location
