The Opportunity:
The Research Coordinator will provide overall support for the coordination of research studies including, but not limited to: recruitment, clinical visits, preparing for monitoring visits, ethics submissions and correspondence.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the design of study specific documents such as ethics submission packages, source documentation, letters of correspondence, reports of studies to physicians and participants
- Assess the staff requirements (nurses, research assistants) for prestudy preparation, recruitment, enrollment followup
- Orient and supervise research nurses and assistants in the conduct of the study protocol
- Coordinate and perform study recruitment, bookings, enrollments, and followup with the assistance of other research nurses and assistants
- Ensure study documentation and study files are appropriately maintained
- Report SAEs to the sponsor and REB following established guidelines
- Oversee study product accountability and randomization practices
- Coordinate sponsor monitoring visits
- Promote good relations with community and health centers and doctors involved with recruitments.
Hours of Work:
8:00-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
Your Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in a related health profession or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be accepted
- Experience in a clinical trial environment strongly preferred
- Excellent time management skills and experience
- Basic knowledge in research and/or project accounting systems strongly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project), Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, and social media platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organization skills and planning, including developing a work schedule, monitoring progress towards goals, and tracking details, data, information, and activities; able to effectively multitask
- Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
- Able to work both independently as well as cooperatively and effectively with others
- Demonstrate a high level of time management and decisionmaking skills in regards to setting priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external)
- Strong attention to detail
