You will define, recommend, develop and implement process, tool, role and service management model improvements that will expand, mature and improve the overall end-user device management environment at Fraser Health.

This includes working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and vendors to develop and implement strategic and operational decisions related to device selection and confirmation of fit for purpose, procurement and deployment process development & management, device replacement, retirement & decommissioning, process maturation and overall maximization of the user experience.


Within this portfolio, you will have the opportunity to combine your expertise in IT Service Management and Project Management with your ability to provide strategic direction and support for Device Lifecycle functions at FHA.


  • Responsibilities will include:_
  • Developing and leading the Device Lifecycle Management environment and functions of FHA's Information Technology Services group, including the definition and implementation of ITILbased process improvements to IT services directly managed by this group for Mobility, Print & Pager work streams.
  • Leading the design, implementation and management of device management resources, process and tools, including providing supervision, guidance and leadership to assigned staff and nonstaff resources (e.g. project resources)
  • Leading the development and maturation of FHA's Device Management structure and environment
  • Understanding and ensuring alignment with processes and tools (e.g. Change and Config mgmt, procurement) used by FHA's service providers and vendors
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the functionality and utility of FHA's various enduser device footprints in support of various use cases
  • Supporting the development and maturation of overall Device and Peripheral Service Management strategies and working closely with FHA's Service Management SMEs to ensure appropriate service design, transition and operational support processes are in place and are effective for Mobility, Print & Pager work streams
  • Ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are aware of and able to comply with the requirements for successful transition of new and amended devices, peripherals and support services into FHA's environment
  • Providing support to Senior Leadership, often in the form of detailed opportunities analyses and recommendations, participation in issues management discussions, and representation on functional working groups and committees
  • Defining, recommending, documenting and managing projects
  • Preparing, managing and evaluating the procurement of external services by participating and/or managing the RFI, RFQ and/or RFP process
The following additional skills and experience will be an asset in this position:

  • Knowledge and understanding of mobility environments and devices used within them (e.g. smartphones, cell phones, pagers, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of output management environments and devices used within them (e.g. multifunction printers, label printers, fax machines), particularly in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with 3rdparty device and service procurement models
Understanding of reporting and metrics in a healthcare setting
