We're looking for
Maintenance Supervisor to join our
Heffley Creek division, located in
Kamloops, British Columbia.

With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year
, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Three to five years of maintenance supervisory experience.
-
Red Seal Certification required; Millwright ticket preferred.
-
Post Secondary in Mechanical Engineering, forestry or business would be considered strong assets.
-
Sawmill and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
-
Effective communication, organizational and time management skills.
-
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends as we are a 24/7 operation.

In this role you will**:

  • Report to the Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Be accountable for providing leadership to maintenance crews of 15 to 24 employees.
  • Ensure your team delivers quality maintenance activities in a safe and proactive manner.
  • Be accountable for scheduling, organizing and safely achieving targeted production levels of quality veneer or plywood.
  • Be required to work shift work which may include weekends.
  • Regularly inspect and ensure equipment is maintained to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Ensure that maintenance targets and schedules are met as forecasted.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish, coordinate, and direct all maintenance activities for hourly and contract workers. This includes scheduling work, overseeing tasks, and ensuring quality control.
  • Take an active role in the hiring process of the maintenance team. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Be prepared to work in a variety of temperatures, as the role involves mostly indoor work but may also require exposure to external temperatures.
