Our total compensation package offers job security, health, dental, EFAP, vision and life insurance. Base salary range for a Shop Hand in this role is $18-$20 per hour.

The role

General Maintenance - 70% of your time is spent here

  • Perform basic building maintenance and minor repairs as directed
  • Keeps shop area neat, clean and safe
  • Inspect used oil container level
  • Ensure adequate stock of shop items so they don't run short
**Other Duties

  • 30% and its important** Assist the sales department in cleaning and prepping new trucks for delivery
  • Advise Shop Foreman or Service Manager of broken or damaged shop tools and equipment and the repairs required
  • Clean wash bay, floors and walls
  • Delivering parts to customers
  • Empty garbage cans

Education

  • Highschool Diploma (past or inprogress)
  • Class 5 driving license required
  • Possession of a valid class 3 driver's license is an asset

Experience

  • Experience in the industry or in a shop/automotive environment is preferred
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

We are a heavy truck dealer and body repair shop in Southern Alberta and British Columbia representing Freightliner, Thomas Built, Sport Chassis, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Autocar and other brands of heavy-duty trucks.
