Summary

We are seeking a meticulous senior accountant to handle accounting tasks within our company. The senior accountant will be responsible for financial reports, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, tax returns, audit preparations, and other accounting duties.

To excel in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong analytical abilities. Additionally, proficiency in Excel, attention to detail, organizational skills, meeting deadlines, and working well independently and in a team are crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accounting functions and programs.
  • Prepare financial analyses, including job cost audits.
  • Create revenue projections and forecast expenditure.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Review biweekly payroll in ADP and act as backup as needed.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in annual audit preparations.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance issues.
  • Prepare various tax returns.
  • Contribute to process documentation development.
  • Support junior staff and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional accounting designation.
  • 6+ years of accounting experience.
  • Understanding of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Payroll knowledge, experience with ADP preferred.
  • Experience with INFOR Clouded ERP system is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff.

Requirements

  • Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Police Check.
  • Covid-19 vaccination proof.
  • Strong financial analysis, communication, organizational, stress management, and English language skills.

Working Conditions

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5pm).
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs independently.
