Reporting to the Operations Manager, in this role, you will:

  • Analyze the open demand for customized client products, and prioritize orders based on urgency, order types (single or double sided), and SKU complexity.
  • Plan the allocation of orders to specific production lines and laser machines based on the nature of the customization requirements. Consider the capacity and capabilities of each machine to ensure maximum utilization.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of necessary supplies, including corrugate, tape, cleaning supplies and other consumables required for customization. Monitor inventory levels and plan for timely replenishment to avoid disruptions.
  • Establish a preventative maintenance schedule for the production lines and laser machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize impact on production schedules.
  • Lead a critical role in ensuring that the customization process is wellorganized, efficient, and capable of meeting customer demands while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Determine the staffing requirements for each production line and shift based on the workload and the skills needed for specific customization tasks. Ensure that staff members are adequately trained to operate the machines and perform the required customization processes.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure that customized products are produced in a timely manner to meet customer orders and inventory requirements.
  • Implement robust quality control measures at each stage of customization to uphold product quality standards. Integrate quality checks into the production process to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Continuously evaluate the customization workflow and identify opportunities for optimization, such as process improvements, layout reconfiguration, or technology upgrades, to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.

We are looking for a team member that has:

  • College and/or university Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 35 years of operations experience in a fastpaced supply chain/logistics/manufacturing environment.
  • Previous 3PL experience preferably in a multiclient facility
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and Health and Safety Legislation.
  • A deep understanding of production planning principles, including demand forecasting, capacity planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes that is crucial for coordinating the movement of materials, components, and finished products within the warehouse environment.
  • An understanding of supply chain management principles, including procurement, transportation, and distribution. Able to coordinate the flow of materials and finished products throughout the customization process.
  • Familiarity with relevant production planning and inventory management software systems is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including production, warehouse, procurement, and transportation teams, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of the customization process.
  • The ability to analyze complex situations, identify potential obstacles, and implement solutions to optimize the customization process.
  • A keen attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high quality standards throughout the customization process.
