WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS AREA MANAGER

SENIORITY LEVEL: Junior Level

FUNCTION: Marketing

LOCATION: Vancouver

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of the Commercial Marketing team. The role is responsible for delivering commercial and consumer performance for Imperial Tobacco Canada (ITCAN) within a geographical area. This will be accomplished by using outstanding sales, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and leading a team of omnichannel Territory Managers for an assigned geographic area.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

Reporting Level : 5 – 10 direct reports

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Deliver on financial omnichannel objectives (NTO), Volume and Market Share objectives for all our products, inclusive of combustible and non-combustible ranges (Total Nicotine Category). Deliver omnichannel growth through implementing a sustainable Win (Consumer) - Win (Customer) - Win (ITCAN) model with strategic trade partners, through direct reports. Manage all resources (human and financial) for a defined omnichannel district to ensure that they are deployed in the most efficient and effective manner to achieve and exceed business objectives. Develop and implement omnichannel district plans, which align to local consumer opportunities and enhance national/local Brand and TM&D strategies. Develop an understanding and act on omnichannel market intelligence that may impact, positively or negatively, the sale of our Products. Identify omnichannel district risks and opportunities and ensure that all relevant levels of management are fully informed. Monitor and measure omnichannel district objectives and implement appropriate strategies. Lead Talent Management including, coaching, career planning, performance management and developing direct reports to become hard-working sales professionals, with an emphasis on the Win (Consumer) - Win (Customer) - Win (ITCAN) model. Ensure a cohesive community within your teams through shared metrics and collaborate to meet company objectives. Maintain 3 to 4 days per week in field with team members and customers ensuring that both 'Business' and 'People' Objectives are met and exceeded.Review the current performance of all members of the district and based on review, apply the appropriate support/measures. Actively participate in and support the ongoing recruitment process aligned to the high-performance culture within Imperial Tobacco. Responsible to ensure awareness, training, and implementation of EHS standard methodologies to mitigate Health & Safety risks and prevent work related injuries or accidents.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Minimum 2-5 years FMCG or Sales Experience Extensive people management experience Prior customer management experience required.Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills. Facility with digital tools and able to interpret commercial data, identify business opportunities, and put plans into action. Strong business insights, strategic approach, and account management capabilities. Ability to focus on a long-term objective, while capitalizing on short-term opportunities.Strong training and coaching skills. University degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field Hold a valid driver's license in any one of Canada's provinces or territories. Possess the current legal right to work in Canada. Fluent in English.
